My love for Disney started in childhood and has grown into a lifelong passion. Even after more than 75 visits, I still can’t walk into Magic Kingdom without that first glimpse of Cinderella Castle taking my breath away. It’s not just beautiful. It represents years of unforgettable memories made with family and friends.

Some of those memories are especially meaningful. When my children were young, it seemed like every vacation came with at least one sick child. On one trip, our youngest, just four years old, ended up with strep throat and needed a doctor visit. When we returned to our room later that day, there was a stuffed Mickey waiting on the bed with a handwritten note wishing him a speedy recovery so he could come back to the park and see him. That small act of magic meant everything to our son, and it turned my husband and me into lifelong Disney fans.

Our connection to Universal runs just as deep. We were visiting Universal Studios Florida in August of 1992 as Hurricane Andrew was approaching Florida, one of the most devastating storms to ever make landfall. Many families in the park that day had evacuated coastal areas and didn’t know what they would return home to. And yet, there was this shared feeling of wanting to hold onto one more day of joy. The Universal team showed such genuine kindness and care to every guest during an incredibly uncertain time. It’s something we have never forgotten.

We’ve watched Universal grow from those early days into an incredible destination, now home to multiple theme parks, immersive worlds like The Wizarding World of Harry Potter, and one of the best water parks I’ve ever experienced.
